Oilfield Training Course
We now have confirmed training dates from Kellie Powell with the Law Enforcement Academy at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. The dates for the training will be February 3rd & 4th, 2010. This is an 8 hour class which will be taught 2 days in a row to allow for officer scheduling. Training will start at 8 am and end at 5 pm each day. Breaks will be on the hour and lunch will be from 1 pm till 2 pm. Lunch will be provided at no cost to the officer and there is no cost for the training. Instructors will be Chief Deputy Ed Krevit - Midland County Sheriff's Office, FBI- PBOTTF Supervisor Justin Fleck and Sgt. Alan Thompson - Midland County, Sgt. Mark Greenhaw - Andrews County, Inv. David Trujillo - Ector County and Lt. Kenny Ray - Texas Rangers Co. E - Midland This training is being taught in conjunction with the Energy Security Council - Houston, Texas and is sponsored by Chevron, SandRidge Energy, Chesapeake Energy and Apache Corporation. The training will consist of 5 hours of classroom instruction and 3 hours outside where officers will be able to look at samples of oilfield equipment and the vehicles that are used to legitimately transport this equipment. Instruction will also be given on where to locate serial numbers on equipment and how proper paperwork should look during transport of equipment. All local, state and federal law enforcement officers in the Big Bend region are encouraged to attend and TCLEOSE credit will be provided by the Law Enforcement Academy at Sul Ross State University.
